VXL debuts new ‘Vtona’ PCoIP® Zero Client at VMworld 2011

VXL Instruments announce the launch of the new compact Vtona Desktop Zero Client supporting the Teradici PC-over-IP protocol in North America and Western Europe.

Developed in conjunction with Teradici, the new VMware™ certified Vtona PCoIP® Zero Client delivers a superior remote desktop experience for advanced users ensuring a rich multi-media performance including 3D graphics, CAD/CAM, video and more.

The ideal solution for cloud computing and virtualization requirements, the highly compact Vtona PCoIP® Zero Client has no operating system, making it simplicity itself to install as well as manage. Offering users enhanced security, the Vtona is also risk free from viruses and malware for added operator peace of mind.

VXL’s chief channel partner, Lenovo, will be reselling the Vtona product under a Lenovo part number. The new Vtona Zero Client can be viewed at the joint Lenovo/VXL booth 1264 and Teradici booth 1013 at VMworld from August 29th-Sept. 1st.

“As pioneers in the thin client space, VXL together with Lenovo and Teradici, are creating more choice and making it easier for companies to benefit from alternative computing solutions,” said Frank Noon, Vice President, Worldwide Sales, VXL Instruments. “Enterprise office workers, as well as, designers, scientists, architects and engineers will all be able to receive a true PC experience from a small desktop footprint design with the added benefit of an extremely low power consumption” he added.

Equally at ease operating on both LANs and WANs, the Vtona comes complete with class-leading specification including 128MB memory, full USB (4x) and audio peripheral connectivity, two single link DVI-I connectors for multi-monitor support, plus an impressive three year warranty as standard.

“Teradici is looking forward to be working with VXL and Lenovo with the launch of the new Vtona PCoIP® Zero Client at VMworld 2011” said Trent Punnett, Vice President Marketing, Product Management and System Engineering, Teradici. “Vtona delivers an uncompromised desktop performance with excellent reliability and will allow users worldwide to take full advantage of VMware View™ for their VDI deployments.” added Punnett.

“We’re excited to add the Vtona Zero Client device to our extensive thin client portfolio, creating an environment that is easier to manage and provision thus creating a greater ROI” said Peter Schrady, VP & GM Software & Peripherals, Lenovo. “This enables us to better support our customers with VMWare deployments and our SI partners, like CSC, with the CSC Virtual Desktop Services portfolio.”

The Vtona PCoIP Zero Client is available to order from both VXL & Lenovo from December 2011.
